Boom Cards! Hop on the Boomlearning Express

If you have been a little stressed about your students, don't fret. I think I might have the answer for you. I say hop on board the boomlearning express! This tool is amazing and will not only benefit the students but will help you, as a teacher too with automatic grading and a library full of interactive pre-made lessons from PreK-12th grade!

Are you an educator who has dealt with the struggles of virtual learning?  If so, you might be thinking that these past several months have not been the best for learning. In fact, you might have seen the drop already as students were forced to take assessments this school year. You might also be wondering how your students can continue growing their brains, and recoup all that they have missed, over the upcoming summer months. After all, many of us in the educational world know this time as the "summer slide" where students regress during their lengthy time off of school.  Although the validity of such regression is definitely questionable, I believe that we can all agree that students who struggle should continue to at least do some kind of work each week, even if it is a bare minimum of 30 minutes to an hour a week of interactive learning or play during the summer months. The last thing we need, after the many months of uncertainty and switching from virtual to face-to-face then back to virtual then back to face-to-face, is for our students to continue to widen the learning gap, especially our students who find themselves lacking the resources needed to have an even playing field.

I started using boom cards after a colleague introduced me to them last year before COVID19 hit. I can not tell you what a life saver it was for me to have known about using boom cards before we were ordered to work online in March of 2020. It truly saved me as an educator and truly helped me to keep my students, who are struggling learners,  some with intellectual disabilities, active and learning during a time when we were all scrambling trying to do our best as we maneuvered our way through the remote teaching world.

Boom learning is a super cheap way to make your lessons way more engaging and interactive and most importantly, it is a way for students to find independence in mastering the skills that they need to improve. So, before heading out to summer break, get your students started on the boomlearning express. You will not regret it.
